Grow Today Therapy
Frequently Asked Questions
I have never been to therapy before.
What should I do first?
It doesn’t matter if you are a therapy veteran or this is your very first session, it all begins with scheduling a consultation through the contact form. During your free 20 minute consultation, we will explore what isn’t working for you, what you are hoping to accomplish in our time together, and any questions or concerns you may have. You will not be pressured or obligated to schedule an appointment at the end of the call, but you’re welcome to do so.
What should I expect during the free phone consultation?
The phone consultation is an opportunity for you to share about what you are struggling with or what prompted you to seek out therapy at this time. You do not have to share more than you are comfortable with. I will also share about my approach, experience, and treatment modalities. I am happy to answer any questions or concerns you have at this time about therapy, confidentiality, or what might be difficult for you in the therapeutic process. We will also discuss fees and scheduling, and what you can expect out of our first session together.
How long will our sessions be?
How often will we meet?
Each session will be 50 minutes, but longer sessions can be accommodated. We will meet at a frequency that feels comfortable for you. Generally, I like to begin meeting with clients on a weekly basis for us to get to know one another, and then determine if weekly or every other week is the best fit.
Do you take Insurance?
I am an Out-of-Network provider and do not bill insurance directly.
I partner with Mentaya to help utilize insurance benefits to cover the cost of sessions. I can verify your Out-of-Network benefits before our first session so you will know exactly how much sessions will cost after your insurance reimbursement.
For many clients, their Out-of-Network benefits will cover majority, if not the entire cost of sessions once they meet their deductible.
When utilizing Out-of-Network benefits for our sessions, clients would be responsible for paying our agreed upon session fee at the time of our appointment, and I can submit the claim directly to your insurance or provide a super-bill for you to submit to your insurance for reimbursement.
I also work with clients who prefer to pay out of pocket and offer a limited amount of sliding scale spots.
I am happy to answer any questions you may have about payment, fees, and insurance during your free 20 minute consultation.
Do you offer in person sessions?
I currently offer in-person sessions at my office in Reno, NV.
For client's outside of this area, I offer virtual sessions for clients residing throughout California and Nevada.
Virtual sessions are offered through a HIPPA approved Zoom account.
