Individual Therapy

Happy Portrait

In my sessions, I utilize a psychodynamic and attachment-based approach, focusing on enhancing attachment and connection as the primary goal of therapy. With individuals, this starts by building attachment within the therapeutic relationship, then guiding clients to cultivate a sense of attachment and connection with themselves. By increasing your sense of self, you can build confidence, advocate for your needs, and learn to set healthy boundaries in relationships.

Through an attachment-based lens, I explore how childhood and early family dynamics have shaped your worldview. This allows us to delve into various life experiences, your perceptions of relationships, and the coping strategies you use to navigate daily challenges. Throughout our time together, you will learn how to boost self-confidence, shift negative internal beliefs, and develop a strong sense of self. Ultimately, my aim is to empower you to lead a more fulfilling and authentic life.

EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) Therapy is an evidence-based approach designed to help individuals heal from past traumatic experiences or deeply upsetting memories. If you grew up feeling misunderstood, lonely, or disconnected from others, you may find it challenging to process stress or difficult memories. EMDR can help these memories become "unstuck," allowing you to move beyond your past and cultivate hope, while enhancing your sense of self in your life.

Here are some key ways EMDR can help you:

  • Many clients experience a decrease in symptoms related to PTSD, anxiety, and depression, such as flashbacks, intrusive thoughts, and hypervigilance.

  • EMDR fosters better emotional regulation, enabling clients to respond to stressors in healthier ways.

  • The therapy can help clients reframe negative beliefs about themselves that stem from past experiences, promoting a more positive self-image.

  • Clients learn to develop effective coping strategies for managing distressing emotions and memories, improving overall resilience.

  • EMDR encourages clients to explore the connections between their past experiences and current behaviors, leading to greater self-awareness.

  • As clients heal from past traumas, they may find it easier to connect with others and build healthier relationships.

  • EMDR helps clients regain a sense of safety and security, allowing them to feel more present and engaged in their lives.

  • The therapy empowers clients by helping them reclaim control over their thoughts and feelings, fostering a sense of agency in their healing journey.

Overall, EMDR can be a transformative experience, providing clients with tools to move forward and lead more fulfilling lives.
